Random ramblings of a geek
Risen from the ashes

Way back in 2006 I started a new program, it was called SourceKeep - the idea was to create a very simple HTTP based version control and file storage system. The bulk of the system was developed very quickly and before I knew it I had an almost fully working program for Linux and Windows. Like all programmers I lose interest when the "fun" bits are done and the rest is left until I have to do it. So the project got shelved, some of the files have modified times in 2007 so it looks like I went back to it briefly but never finished it.

In 2008 the hard disk where SourceKeep lived died suddenly, sadly
and
strangely ironically the source code for the client was lost; all I was
left with was an SQL dump and the PHP files for the backend. The hard
disk had a corrupted MFT and no program I found seemed to be able to
fix it or recover the files from the drive. I never threw the hard disk
away, it sat on a shelf lost and forgotten.
My aim with applications is to always make them as easy to use as possible, tonight I set up a project on Google Code using svn and I really was not prepared for the oncoming pissing about I'd have to go through to get the damn source code on there! So I dusted off the broken hard disk and once again went hunting on the net. This time however, success! I have actually found a program that not only could recover almost all my files but was very fast at the job too. This beautiful piece of software is called Zero Assumption Recovery and I would recommend it to anyone who has had a hard disk seemingly die on them. I have now made multiple copies of the SourceKeep client sourcecode.
Ladies and gentlemen I am pleased to announce that SourceKeep is back under development!
